On Saturday, we started the day by heading out to the Tall Timber Days Festival. The event was started in part by Dr. Jess 27 years ago, when he felt that GR needed a parade. It is now a Friday through Saturday deal, with lumberjack shows, chainsaw carving demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors and lots of other things (including food!).
We followed that up with a trip out onto the lake. What started out as a bumpy boat ride ended on a calm lake near sunset, after dinner at Zorbaz. It was an absolutely breathtaking sight when we landed the boat.
